Ollie Blunts
Firstly, ollie blunts are far more preferable to the grab-in. I don’t see to many grab-ins overseas, so please, let’s curb the pain. Approach the lip completely straight. As you get there, let your wheels go over the coping and lock into the blunt position. You may want to shift that front foot a little back to suck that ollie off. When you’re ready, pull out of the blunt with an ollie, making sure it’s big enough so that you don’t hang-up, ‘cos that’s gonna hurt. Some people drop their back wheels down first for a little coping clearance. The faster you are on and off the lip, the better.

Backside Ollie to Tail
Now, this is done over a bit of a hip here. I don’t know if that’s easier or not, but this trick is largely pretty pissy. It might help to learn backside ollies and backside disasters first. Approach the lip and schralp a backside ollie. Don’t pop as such, and don’t dink your wheels - schralp. The best way to learn this is to treat the turning like a regular kickturn. So approach, schralp, turn, aim that tail, clack, drop in and ride away. Learn it on straight forward mini’s first, then learn to slide them bitches.
