Difficulty: Shiva toes

To Begin: This is one of those tricks that once you have it, its more than likely going to stay with you through your skate career as one of your “to go” tricks. They are pretty easy and are good for street and transition in fact you can pretty much do these down, up and over anything you can ollie.

Set up: You should probably learn them on flat before taking them down a set of 10 or popping them above the coping, so find a nice piece of smooth flat ground to begin with. Roll along with your front foot in the kickflip position, you know, slightly back and to the left of centre if you are regular and your back foot in regular ollie position.

Pop and flip
: Pop your tail making sure to turn your shoulders and board backside whilst giving the board a good flip (See frame 5). If you have given the board a solid flipping it should catch your feet nicely, preferably the back foot first for extra steez points, keep floating backside and get ready for the landing.

Landing: Once you have rotated almost 1800 and are feeling comfortable for the landing, hit the ground with your weight centred over your board making sure to bend those knees so as to not slip out and smack out your grill and roll away fakie. It helps to go a little faster for this trick and what will defi nitely help is to learn it landing on the front wheels fi rst and sliding part of the rotation out with the back foot, you’ll see what I mean when you start learning them.
