Maloof Money Cup 2011 South Africa!

Yes it is true the Maloof Money Cup is coming to South Africa in 2011 and will be held in the NC province of Kimberley. Session chatted with the organisers of the SA MMC event and this is what they had to say. “The Northern Cape Province identified the Maloof Money Cup as the ideal catalyst to position itself in the extreme sports market in South Africa due to the following facts: skateboarding is the fastest growing recreational sport in the world, it is one of the most inexpensive sports to participate in and it is a sport where only one participant is needed. The core value is simple “To provide the best possible contest in skateboarding history” The Maloof name in skateboarding is synonymous with the best athletes, the best courses and the best contest Prize purse is double any other international skate contest (Over $500k in Cash and Prizes) Credibility with Mainstream Reach. We have the support of Professional Skaters and Endemic Companies. Maloof’s regularly discuss the event alongside all of their other companies Contest’s and the courses will become permanent community skate parks with Trend-setting Street Course Design and Vert Ramps Competitors having altered formats and design to mimic MMC International Content Distribution via TV Programming, Live Webcasts and Social Networks After its inaugural year in 2008, the Maloof Money Cup was quickly hailed by the skateboarding community and media to be the world’s greatest skateboarding event. With the largest prize purse in the history of professional skateboarding with nearly $500,000 in cash and prizes awarded in three professional U.S. Championship Competitions – the Carl’s Jr. Pro Vert Championship, the Zoo York Pro Street Championship, the U.S. Women’s Pro Street, as well as the World Industries Amateur Street and Vert Championships – the Maloof Money Cup changed the face of skateboarding contests. The reception received from the skateboarding community, fans and sponsors after previous events was overwhelmingly positive. They continue to set the bar for skate contests and executing bigger and better competitions in the future. They continue to lean on skaters and the skate industry for guidance and to ensure that MMC always stays close to the heart of the industry, while energizing new fans and furthering the progression of skateboarding worldwide.” For more information or updates on the South African Maloof Money Cup event go to www.maloofmoneycup.com or contact Gerdia Viljoen at gerdia.viljoen@gmail.com.
